Article Review Assignment

This assignment is not required. Students who have not written an article review and would like to see a sample of one are encouraged to look at the example.

One of the primary responsibilities of researchers is to provide meaningful comments on the work of other authors. This is often done in the form of an article review. We have selected an article for you to review as if you were deciding whether or not to recommend the article for publication. You should provide approximately two pages of comments (single-spaced) for the author and editor including:

  1. a summary of the research and key findings,
  2. a recommendation of whether or not to accept, accept with revisions, request resubmission, or deny the article, and
  3. comments on the article that support your recommendation and will be helpful to the author and editor.

The focus should be more on high-level issues than on editorial and typographical issues.

The article that you will be asked to review is

I have completed this assignment have included a copy of my article review for your benefit. There are surely additional comments that could be made, but this at least gives you an idea of an article review. For your own benefit I would highly recommend that you read the article yourself and try to come up with your own comments before reading this example.
